That’s right, one Brisbane music’s longest running  and success institutions Powderfinger have officially announced they will split after their next national tour at a press conference held this morning in Sydney.  After achieving incredible success with 7 albums , numerous EP’s and a swag of ARIA awards, the decision was a tough one, according to singer Bernard Fanning.

“With the completion of our last album, Golden Rule, we feel that we have said all that we want to say as a musical group,” he said.  “We firmly believe that it is our most complete and satisfying album and can’t think of a better way to farewell our fans than with music that we all believe in and also with, hopefully, our best tour to date.”
