Having just returned from the US where he has been recording a new album with Grammy award winning producer Larry Klein at the helm, (Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Madeleine Peyroux, Herbie Hancock, Tracy Chapman), Mark Sholtez is set to take the stage for a national tour throughout May 2010.

Mark’s new record was recorded in the famous Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood and highlights his rare talent as a musician, showcasing him as one of Australia’s
finest singer/songwriters. The album features an amazing cast of musicians along with Mark’s own song-writing efforts and includes collaborations with Alex Lloyd,
Matt Hales [Aqualung] and Iain Archer [Snow Patrol].
This stunning new album is set for release in mid 2010.

In 2005, shortly after signing a deal with the esteemed U.S. record label Verve, Mark Sholtez recorded his Debut Album, Real Street, in New York City.

Real Street’s soulful, sophisticated musical settings match Sholtez’s talents with those of some of contemporary music’s most revered and respected figures. Real Street was released in April 2006 and debuted in the ARIA Jazz and Blues chart at the number one position where it stayed for ten consecutive weeks, was nominated for an ARIA award in that same year, and in 2007 won him a converted APRA Music Award.

During that same time Mark toured extensively with Diana Krall, Jamie Cullum, George Benson and Missy Higgins as well as his own headline shows.
