Great news for bands trying to flog off some of their kit. This from Club Phoenix :

“Ever since we started Phoenix I’ve wanted to have a permanent merch store set up for Australian bands to have a venue selling their Demos/EP’s/Albums/T-shirts/Vinyls/Etc to their specific target audience.

The owner has given me the go ahead to start organising this now due to some space clearing up out the back so I want anyone and everyone who’s in (or knows of) a band with stuff to sell/giveaway to get together a package to give to Phoenix for selling whenever we’re open. ”

The Way it will work :  

*Bands drop off a well packaged bunch of items they want sold to Phoenix at 235 Edward St, Brisbane 4000.

*They include an information sheet that tells me:
1. The Items for sale
2. How much to sell them for
3. Contact Details (Name, Mobile, Email)
4. Your bands name, and ONE sentence describing your sound and maybe one or two bands you sound like.

*Bands pay a small fee of $20 for 6 months worth of sales, storage, advertisement and publicity. Please include with your package and paying for more than 6 months is fine.

*We will NOT be marking up or taking a percentage of your sales, the $20 will cover our labour, storage and promotions cost.

*Doesn’t have to be a professional printing, burnt discs in a sleeve is fine…its all up to you.

*I’ll keep a record of what we have, and at the end of each month I’ll do a stocktake. If your band has sold something you’ll be contacted and your sales for the month paid to you.

*We’ll warn you of low stock if the punters are buying your product

*”featured artists” and “artist of the week/month” promotions

*More exposure for your band!!

So if this sounds like something you’d (or your friends band) be interested in, get a box, put some of your merch in it, scribble on some paper your details and for a small fee you can get your stuff exposed to over 1,000 people a week!

Product lists (probably with a short description) will be availabe for the publics perusal at all times and staff always near by.
