As part of the giant festival of rock glorification that is Overcranked, Rollerball will be out kicking asses and taking names this coming Saturday. We caught up with guitarist Dave Talon to talk about the band and his take on big festivals.

BrisbaneMusic : Hi there, thanks for doing this interview. Now, you guys are playing at the Overcranked festival later this month, can you tell us some details on your set times etc. Where can readers come and see you?
Dave Talon : The Loudmouth Stage 2pm

BM : Which bands are you most looking forward to working with on Overcranked?
DT : I love the “HARD ON’S”. seen them many times but not for a long time.

BM : We are really looking forward to the Overcranked show. What do you love about big festivals?
DT : I love catching an act in the late afternoon outdoors just before a light show is required. As far as I’m concerned that is by far the best way to see a Rock Show.

BM : What do you hate about them?
DT : Don’t like the fact that on festivals you don’t get a sound check and big stage area makes it hard to hear the rest of the band.

BM : What has been your most memorable experience working on big events/festivals?
DT :  I get a big kick out of a good crowd response and a bigger one about backstage dunnies and bars.

BM : What advice would you like to offer new bands starting out? What’s the best way to get noticed?
DT : Forget the gimmicks, that only helps in the short term…write good songs.

BM : What’s next for Rollerball?
DT : About to record a new album……..Very fired up about it.

BM : Thanks for your time.
DT : Pleasure
